The mayor’s offices in Moldova will be able to get at most 10 million lei for developing localities as part of the “European Village” Porgram that was launched on March 21. The project implementation period should be at most 12 months. The deadline for applications is April 20, IPN reports.
The National Regional and Local Development Fund is the main source for financing regional and local development programs. It will finance water supply and sewerage projects, projects to thermally insulate buildings, to improve tourist attractions and to develop economic infrastructure.
The budget for 2022 is about 770 million lei, for regional and local development, 300 million lei of which will be used to improve regional infrastructure (water and sewerage systems), to foster the economic development of regions by improving support infrastructure for businesses and creating jobs in development regions.
Also, 470 million lei will go to improve local infrastructure, to build and renovate schools, kindergartens, homes of culture, playgrounds and gymnasiums and to take energy efficiency measures.
The local public atrocities will file applications for financing themselves, together with the required documents, to the Regional Development Agencies (North, Center, South and Gagauzia) during March 22 – April 20, 2022. The list of necessary documents is available on satuleuropean.gov.md. The files with allocations for co-financing with external assistance sources can be submitted in person to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development throughout 2022.
