In the opening ceremony, the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Michalko said the European Union means peace and prosperity. These are values to which the Republic of Moldova has also tended during the last few years. The relationship between the EU and Moldova reached a high level of profoundness. All the member states of the EU have a common objective as regards the Republic of Moldova – they all want to help improve the living conditions of citizens. Moldova’s integration into the EU is wanted by the country’s citizens.
Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said that since Europe Day has been staged in Chisinau, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova have progressively wanted the country to integrate into the EU and know how united the EU member states are. The Europe Union is the best development model in the world, which works by well-defined rules and principles, towards which Moldova also tends. Even if Moldova is only an associate state of the EU, it daily integrates into the EU through the reforms done by the authorities.
After the opening ceremony, the officials, together with the EU ambassadors, made a tour of the European Town.
