The European culture and cuisine will be presented through the agency of the embassies of EU member states working in Chisinau and the partner states in the central park of the capital city on May 12 and 13. The event is staged as part of the European Town organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova and starts at 1pm on May 12, IPN reports.

“We will celebrate the European Year of Cultural Heritage and 70 years of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. You could discover the values and traditions that form the basis of the European Union and the assistance offered by the European Union to the Republic Moldova,” Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Michalko says in a video that advertises the event.

The European Town will consist of tents where there will be presented projects financed by the EU. The visitors could find out more about the assistance provided to Moldova and could take part in foreign language lessons and taste European traditional dishes. Recreational activities will be organized for children. Starting at 10pm, there will be broadcast the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.

The European Town will host the traditional European film and culture festival starting at 1am on May 13. The National Philharmonic “Sergei Lunkevich”, the Latvian band FunCOOLio and the Moldovan band Trigon will give performances of classical and jazz music. The European film and culture festival will be held in a number of localities in Moldova during May 13 and June 3.
