European Parliament will support Moldova in its European integration efforts, official

The European Parliament will continue to support Moldova in its efforts to integrate into the European Union, the head of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Monica Macovei said in a meeting with Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government. Monica Macovei approved of the Moldovan Government’s commitment to implementing reforms in the spirit of the European values. “Moldova is a success model within the Eastern Partnership and we will support you anytime you need. The results you achieved will be mentioned in the parliamentary resolutions,” she stated. Vlad Filat said that the European Union’s support in implementing changes in Moldova is very important, while the Eastern Partnership offers an efficient and stable framework that helps to intensify the modernization processes in Moldova. The Premier also said that Moldova’s main objective is to finish the talks on the Association Agreement, concerning the creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Moldova and the EU, and to implement the second phase of the Visa Liberalization Plan by the next Eastern Partnership Summit that will take place in Vilnius in 2013. The delegation of the European Parliament came to Chisinau to take part in the 16th meeting of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
