European Parliament to debate observance of human rights in Moldova

The agenda of the July 5 sitting of the European Parliament includes the discussion of the respect for the human rights, democracy and rule of law in the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

In a posting on a social networking site, MEP Siegfried Muresan, chairman of the delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgets, said the Republic of Moldova was included in the agenda of the European Parliament alongside the African states Somalia and Burundi to discuss the violation of human rights, democracy and rule of law in these countries. “The rulers in the Republic of Moldova should realize what they did. The citizens of the Republic of Moldova deserve more,” wrote Siegfried Muresan.

The debate will start at about 10am and the vote was planned for 12 noon Brussels’ time.
