The President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek came to Chisinau to meet with representatives of the political parties that entered the legislative body, Info-Prim Neo reports. After the arrival of the European official at the Chisinau International Airport, Acting President Mihai Ghimpu said the results of the discussions will be made public in a news conference that will be given at 14.45 at the Presidential Residence located on Nicolae Iorga St. According to the presidential press service, before coming to Chisinau Jerzy Buzek said he was glad that he was going to Moldova with a message of solidarity and support. “During a year, Moldova made considerable progress on the path to European integration. I want to encourage the Moldovan authorities to continue making effort,” he said. The European official stressed that the EU supports Moldova and its people and wants to encourage the political leaders to find a solution to the constitutional and institutional impasse. “Moldova can become a modern and prosperous country where the young people will be able to fulfill their dreams,” Jerzy Buzek stated. At 11.00, Jerzy Buzek met with Prime Minister Vlad Filat. At 13.30, he will have a meeting with Mihai Ghimpu. Later, at 16.00, he will meet with the representative of the PCRM Iurie Muntean. He will also meet with the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel. In the evening, the European official will deliver a speech at the State University of Moldova.
