European officials should not intervene in affairs of sovereign state, Mihail Formuzal

The European officials should not intervene in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, considers the Governor of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal. In a meeting of the autonomous territorial unit’s executive committee, Formuzal said European officials’ statements are hasty, inappropriate and can be regarded as offensive to a sovereign state, IPN reports.

According to the governor, the European officials make rash statements without realizing the essence of things at a time when Moldova is going through a natural process of political recovery, which involves the fight against mafia and oligarchic clans. If Moldova follows this path, it will be much closer to Europe and the European standards.

After the Liberal-Demcoartic and Communist MPs adopted together a package of laws last week, a number of European officials reacted, urging the political class to renounce the party and personal interests. They recommended the head of state not to promulgate those laws.
