Minister for Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs and Secretary of State for European Affairs Harlem Désir will pay a visit to Moldova this week, at the invitation of Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman, IPN reports.

According to the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkēvičs, whose country holds the presidency of the Council of the EU, will come to Chisinau on March 26. He will meet with Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman and with the leaders of the ruling alliance.

On March 27, Moldova will be visited by Harlem Désir, who will have meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Chiril Gaburici and Natalia Gherman.

The discussions with the two officials will focus on sides’ expectations of the EaP Riga Summit of May 21-22, the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU and the situation in the region.
