European Gymnastics Federation provides €50,000 to Moldovan school
The European Gymnastics Federation will give €50,000 to a Moldovan gymnastics school. The money will be used to purchase gymnastics equipment. The school will be selected by the Union of Gymnastics Federations of Moldova until this yearend, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The action is part of a European project that involves the European Gymnastics Federating, the Chisinau City Hall and the Union of Gymnastics Federations of Moldova.
“We decided a very necessary and useful thing for the municipality. By purchasing sports equipment for one of the municipal gymnastics schools, we will contribute to the development of sports. Within this European project, we will pay only 20% of the sum, i.e. €10,000,” said the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca.
Within this project, the City Hall will be able to buy gymnastics equipment at lower prices during the next few years. “It is an extraordinary opportunity as we can help promote the Moldovan sports with the assistance of the European Gymnastics Federation. The next years we will add more results to the achieved ones,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.
Chairman of the European Gymnastics Federation Georges Guelzec said that they want to find partners in the European states for developing gymnastics in Moldova at state, town and mayor’s office levels, with the help and involvement of the Union of Gymnastics Federations of Moldova. He stated that he visited a number of sports complexes in Chisinau and saw that they lack equipment.
The European Gymnastics Federation signed a gymnastics promotion convention with a number of foreign producers of gymnastics equipment. The producers will sell the merchandise at lower prices, while the Federation will ensure a stable market for selling such goods.
