European financial institutions invest massively in repair of Moldovan roads
The Government approved a bill whereby it suggests ratifying the lending agreement between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which provides a loan of €75 million for implementing the Road Rehabilitation Project, Info-Prm Neo reports. The decision was taken in Wednesday's meeting of the Cabinet.
The total cost of the project is €181.2 million. It also consists of a €75 million loan offered by the European Investment Bank and a €31.2 million grant from the EU's Neighborhood Investment Facility.
The project envisions the implementation of a program to stop the degradation of the road network, the rehabilitation and modernization of the transport infrastructure and of sections of major national roads, including Chisinau-Orhei- Sarateni- Balti, Chisinu-Calarasi-Ungheni-Sculeni, and Comrat-Ciumai.
