The statements about the annulment or renegotiation of the Association Agreement signed by Moldova with the EU will have no impact because the European integration remains Moldova’s option, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said in the opening of the January 18 meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.
“At the start of last year, we faced a series of delays in implementing the Association Agreement. It’s good that we managed to remove them. There was approved a new plan of action for implementing the Association Agreement, for three years,” stated Pavel Filip.
According to him, the Association Agreement benefits all the Moldovan people. Moldova has a visa-free regime with the 28 EU member states. The EU provided assistance totaling €746 million to Moldova. Recently, it offered €100 million in assistance, 40% of which as a grant.
The Premier noted we should also have good cooperation relations with the Russian Federation and the dialogue in this regard should be continued.
