European Commission President expected in Chisinau

Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, could make a visit to Moldova in the near future after Prime Minister Vlad Filat reiterated his invitation during a phone conversation today, Info-Prim Neo. The Government's press service reported that Jose Manuel Barroso praised Moldova for the on-going reforms and for the extremely efficient negotiations with the European Union, reiterating that the signing of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union until the Eastern Partnership Summit in September 2013 is a realistic and feasible objective. The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the development of the Moldova-EU relationship and the implementation of Moldova's European integration agenda. Prime Minister Vlad Filat reiterated Moldova's firm commitment to the European integration path and stated that the Government will continue to implement reforms to approach European standards.
