European Commission launches new technical assistance project in Moldova
The European Commission is launching a new technical assistance project in Moldova – Technical Assistance to Sector Budget Support Program “Economic Stimulation in Rural Areas”. The European Union will offer Moldova €2.5 million in financial support for implementing the project, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Economy Ministry.
The project will be implemented by the German company Consulting Group, which is a consortium leader, and Oxford Policy Management from the UK. It will last for 24 months, until the end of December 2013. The Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Ministry of Finance are the main beneficiaries.
Within the project, there will be formulated better economic policies at country and sector levels, enhanced the business activities in rural areas and improved the public financial management systems.
The project will be launched on March 15. The launch will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Lazar and the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel.
