European Commission donates Moldovan Customs Service scanning equipment
The European Commission donated the Customs Service of Moldova a scanning system with X-rays worth 1.6 million euros, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communique by the Delegation of the European Commission to Moldova, the assistance is part of a regional project providing for donating screening equipment to the customs services of Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine.
“The X-ray screening system will be used to identify goods illicitly crossing the Moldovan border”, reads the press release.
First, the system will be installed at the Mamaliga-Criva border crossing point.
Within the same project, 30 Moldovan customs officers will get training.
