European Business Association in Moldova celebrates fifth anniversary

The European Business Association (EBA) in Moldova on November 23 marked five years of work by an event that involved Head of the EU Delegation in Chisinau Pirkka Tapiola and Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

Created three years before the signing by Moldova of the Association Agreement with the EU, the EBA played an important role in implementing the measures aimed at improving the business climate in Moldova.

In this connection, Pirkka Tapiola noted that the European spirit feels well in Moldova. The European official congratulated Pavel Filip on the steps taken by the Government in 2016 and the successful implementation of a number of strategic documents, including the roadmap agreed with the EU, and on the approval of a new agreement with the International Monetary Fund.

For his part, Pavel Filip thanked the administration of the European Business Association for the active involvement in the work of the Economic Council of the Prime Minister.

“We would like to together identify solutions to problems faced by the business community. Only by developing the business sector and Moldova’s economy, can we speak about decent salaries and pensions and about services of a high quality, including in the social sphere,” stated Pavel Filip.

The European Business Association is a nongovernmental organizational founded under the auspices of the EU Delegation to Moldova. It is aimed at aligning the national economy and business legislation to the EU standards and at promoting European values and best business management practices in the Moldovan entrepreneurial community. The EBA members are over 50 companies with foreign and national capital.
