European Action Movement will celebrate 89 years of the National Romanian State

The European Action Movement (MAE) will mark the 89th anniversary of the foundation of the National Romanian State by organizing a public performance of music and poetry dedicated to the Great Union of the Romanians – December 1, 1918. MAE president Anatol Petrencu told Info-Prim Neo that December 1 is a special day in Romania’s history because the last region inhabited by Romanians, Transylvania, joined the Motherland, Romania, on this date in 1918. According to him, the performance will be organized with the aim of commemorating those events and will represent a homage paid to those that accomplished the Great Union as well as a message to the young generation. Petrencu said that this event is not adequately celebrated in Moldova and this is not correct. The state should celebrate this event through the agency of the Ministry of Education and Youth and of the presidential office, he stressed. He said that the performance will be given on November 30 at the Ginta Latina Centre starting at 16.00. Gheorghe Palade, chairman of the Association of Historians of Moldova, will deliver a short speech on the Great Union. Students of the high school “Vasile Alecsandi” will sing songs and recite poems. Folk singer Maria Sarabas and the band Catharsis will also perform.
