Eugen Doga celebrates 81st birthday

Composer Eugen Doga celebrates his 81th birthday today. Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc and Secretary General of State Igor Sharov went to congratulate him, IPN reports.

“On March 1, we celebrate not only the beautiful holiday Martsishor that warms up our souls, but also the birthday of the greatest contemporary composer in the whole Romanian area who, by his works, touches the deepest cords of our souls,” stated Monica Babuc.

She invited Eugen Doga to take part in the opening of the International Music Festival “Martsishor is love” that starts today.

Eugen Doga was born in Mocra village, Transnistria, in 1937. He studied at the Music School “Stefan Neaga” and then at the State Conservatoire in Chisinau and the Institute of Arts “Gavriil Muzicescu”. He is the author of many inestimable musical compositions, film and theater soundtracks.

Eugen Doga has composed a symphony, a symphonic poem, cantatas, quartets, music for plays, three ballets, more than 100 instrumental and choral works, church music and music for plays, radio shows, more than 200 movies, more than 260 songs and romances, more than 70 waltzes.
