EU, UNDP launch new call for proposals for Ungheni and Cahul clusters

The European Union and UNDP are launching a new call for proposals for the clusters of Ungheni and Cahul regions. A total of €400,000 will be offered to four entities in these regions for implementing clustering initiatives. The purpose of the non-reimbursable assistance is to promote the cooperation spirit among the companies from urban and rural areas by supporting innovative ideas and the creation of new jobs.

The grants are awarded by the European Union through the “EU4Moldova: Focal regions” Program, implemented by UNDP and UNICEF. The Program aims to support and improve the businesses of Cahul and Ungheni, incentivize the existing companies towards cooperation based on value chains in form of cluster and encourage investments opportunities in the region.

Up to four non-commercial entities registered and active in one of the districts of Cahul or Ungheni, selected during the call for proposals, will receive financial assistance not exceeding €100,000 per project, with an own contribution of at least 10% of the total value of the proposal.

The proposals should include activities which will be carried out within 12 months from the date of awarding the grant agreement. The financial assistance will be allocated for the procurement of equipment, goods, works and services for the acceleration and development of the existing clusters in urban and rural areas.

The deadline for submitting the applications is 17 March 2023, by 5:00 PM.

With a total budget of €23 million, the “EU4Moldova: Focal regions” Program is funded by the EU, and implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.
