EU to offer €31m for EU4Moldova: Integration and Stability Program

The European Commission will provide €31 million under the EU4Moldova: Integration and Stability Program. The Cabinet approved the initiation of negotiations and approval of the signing of the financing agreement with European Commission, IPN reports

“On our path of integration into the European Union, we continue to implement priority reforms and by signing the agreement, the European Commission comes to support this effort. We will strengthen our bilateral cooperation in several areas, focusing on economic development, agriculture, security and good governance,” said Secretary General of the Government Artur Mija.

The program will support resilience, recovery and priority reforms in the Republic of Moldova, in line with the Association Agenda for 2021-2027 and the country’s accession to the European Union. Of this financial support, €10 million is for improving national capacities for dealing with security threats and migration challenges. Another €10 million is intended for the agricultural sector, while €11 million will be used to implementing reforms in the areas of public finance management, justice, competition, labor and energy efficiency.

The agreement will have an implementation period of 72 months from the date of its entry into force.
