An online platform launched with the support of the EU on December 9 provides useful information about technical professional education. On www.ipt.md, one can find an interactive map of all the institutions working in the field and the complete list of trades and specialties that can be studied in centers of excellence, colleges and vocational schools. There can be also accessed a database of the education products available in the field, such as occupational standards, professional qualifications and curricula and other useful information, IPN reports.

In the launch, Deputy Minister of Education Vasile Marina underlined the importance of this portal for developing the technical professional education sector of Moldova. “For the Ministry of Education, modern and high-quality professional education means first of all educational offer adjusted to the labor market needs and well-trained specialists who meet the requirements of employers,” he stated.

Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola said the platform is a good opportunity for showing excellence and quality and for informing about the opportunities provided by the technical professional education in the Republic of Moldova. “Today we want to underline that vocational education is interesting,  entertaining and has the potential to offer a successful career to the young people in this country,” stated the diplomat.

The platform www.ipt.md was created with the EU’s support within the program of budget support for modernizing the technical professional education. The platform will be managed by the Ministry of Education and the National Center for Developing Professional Education.

The technical professional education system in Moldova includes 11 centers of excellence, 32 colleges and 44 vocational schools. The educational offer contains about 80 trades and 100 specialties.
