About 100 young people who are members of the association “EuroClub”, dressed in blue and golden T-shirts, formed the EU flag in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral in central Chisinau, calling the event “I’m proud to be European!”. According to the young people, only the EU can help Moldova become a prosperous, modern country and offer a bright future to the young people, IPN reports.
“We want to have a safe future in Europe. For Moldova, the EU means a better and more prosperous future, more workplaces, higher salaries and scholarships, studies of a higher quality and experience exchange. By forming this flag, we wanted to show that the young people will fight for what they want,” said the Association’s head Iurie Lupan.
Silvia Sarbu, a member of “EuroClub”, said that Moldova must join the EU because the changes are needed in the country. “We want changes. It is important that the young people have jobs after they graduate from the education institutions so that they do not leave the country,” she stated.
Student Natalia Gavrilenco said the young people want studies of a high quality, equitable justice and guaranteed rights. “Europe means freedom of thinking and travel without borders,” she stated.
Founded in 2011, “EuroClub” is an association of young people whose goal is to promote and propagate the European values.
