EU encourages cooperation between Moldova and Ukrainian partners

Representatives of institutions, enterprises and organizations from the border region of Moldova and Ukraine can take part in a cooperation program supported by the EU called the Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Support Program (EaPTC). The program envisions joint development projects aimed at strengthening cross-border relations between the EaP countries, IPN reports.

According to communication expert of the EaPTC Tatiana Derevyankina, from next week experts of the program will go on visits to nine Moldovan towns to inform the people about the possibility of taking part in the contest of projects, its conditions and opportunities.

Those who want to apply to the contest must look for a Ukrainian partner and present the project in English. The winners will be announced at the end of 2014. The projects will be completed by 2016.

The goal of the program is to create a favorable environment for territorial cooperation projects along the Moldova-Ukraine, Armenia-Georgia, Azerbaijan-Georgia and Belarus-Ukraine borders.

According to Tatiana Derevyankina, the project is apolitical. The political parties and religious organizations cannot take part in the program.

The EU’s total contribution to this project is over €12 million.
