The European Union calls for calm and restrain from all sides. The call is contained in a statement on the developments in the Republic of Moldova by the Spokesperson for the High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini, quoted by IPN.
“Following today’s vote for a new government in the Moldovan Parliament and ensuing demonstrations, the European Union calls for calm and restraint from all sides. We encourage all stakeholders in the country to engage in a dialogue and find, together, a way forward for the Republic of Moldova.
High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini is in close contact with the EU Delegation in Chisinau and follows the situation closely, says the statement.
The people continue to protest near the Parliament Building in Chisinau, dissatisfied with the voting in of the Filip Government. At a certain moment, these forced a lateral door and entered the Building, but now the people protest outside and continue to chant “We want the country back!”, “Elections!” and “Shame!”.
