Eternity Memorial flame restarted following fixing of gas injection system

The flame at the Eternity Memorial in Chisinau was restarted, press officer of the Ministry of Defense Ala Diaconu has confirmed for IPN. “As we informed in the press release yesterday, the Ministry of Defense decided to temporarily put out the flame at the Eternity Memorial until the gas injection system affected by the low pressure in the natural gas network is repaired. The high winds yesterday were another cause why the flame was put out. Technicians of Chisinau-Gaz worked until late evening yesterday and managed to fix the problem,” stated Ala Diaconu.

National Army commander Andei Cemîrtan has told IPN that the technicians of Chisinau-Gaz solved the technical problem faster than it was expected and the flame was restarted without the ceremony to bring back the flame that was yesterday relocated by the Honor Guard Company to the Museum of Military Glory of the Infantry Brigade “Ștefan cel Mare”. The decision to bring the flame back to the Eternity Memorial will be considered next week.

In the evening of October 22, members of a political party came to the Eternity Memorial will candles “to support” the eternal flame.
