eSocial to integrate all information systems for social services management

The integrated information system eSocial will be created in the Republic of Moldova. It is designed as a "one-stop-shop" solution for the integrated management of social services offered to citizens. The concept, approved by the Cabinet, involves centralizing all information and services on one accessible platform, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the platform is meant to streamline the management of social services, as well as the implementation of social assistance programs in the Republic of Moldova.

The system will allow interconnection with other state registers, thus avoiding duplication of information and ensuring efficient management of cases of social vulnerability.

"The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection currently manages 14 information systems intended for citizens, including for compensation, child protection, disability and employment. However, the fragmented approach prevents us from following the beneficiaries' route and ensuring effective interventions. To remedy this situation, we are developing the common platform "eSocial", which will integrate all existing and developing information systems," said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu.

The concept of the information system was developed with the support of UNDP and UNICEF, within a project financed with funds from the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany, provided through the German Development Bank (KfW).
