Greco-Roman wrestlers Vitalie Eremenko and Alexandrin Guțu climbed to the top step of the winner’s rostrum at the U23 World Wrestling Championships held in Tirana, Albania, IPN reports.
Vitalie Eremenko defeated Japan’s Komei Sawada in the final of the up to 63 kg category, with a score of 10-2. Before the final, the Moldovan athlete also won against Ankit Ankit of India, Erfan Jarkani of Iran and Arman Vardanyan of Armenia.
For his part, Alexandrin Guțu won his second consecutive world title in this age category, after beating Samuel Bellscheidt of Germany in the final of the up to 77 kg eight class, with a score of 3-1. Alexandrin Guțu also won against Albania's Klodjan Shehu, Iran's Ali Oskou, Colombia's Alonso Parra Garcia and Uzbekistan's Doniorhon Nakibov.
The U23 World Wrestling Championships are taking place during October 21-31.
