Erasmus+ Youth Info Centre opens in Moldova

An Erasmus+ Youth Info Centre opened in Moldova. The network already has centers in six other countries in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. In Chisinau, the center will be managed by the MilleniuM Training and Development Institute, IPN reports.

Institute director Vitalie Carhana told a press conference on Friday, August 11, that the network’s goal is to spread information among young people and youth organization about the programme’s youth projects and to support the efficient implementation of projects financed by the Erasmus+ Youth.

“The network’s goal in Moldova is to strengthen cooperation between youth organizations and to involve other interesting actors. We also want to get youth policy decision-makers to participate more in international cooperation in this field, in order to access funds for Moldova”, said Carhana.

Ion Donea, head of the youth division of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, stressed that the opening of the Erasmus+ Youth Info Centru in Moldova is an effective tool that can offer more opportunities in the youth sector. “It is an extra opportunity offered to us by the EU in order to increase the mobility of Moldovan youth, to encourage their participation and exchanges with young people from abroad, to engage them in the national decision-making process”, said Donea.

Moldova thus joined Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine and Russia in the Erasmus+ Youth Info Centre network. Eramus+ is an EU programme that promotes projects in various fields, but mostly known for its education projects.
