Epureanu scores goal in championship of Turkey

Alexandru Epureanu scored his first goal in the championship of Turkey. The Moldovan fullback managed to score from a scissor kick for Istanbul Bashakshehir in a match of the fifth stage, IPN reports.

Epureanu opened the score in the sixth minute of the match against Akhisar Belediyespor, which ended by 4-0. The captain of Moldova’s national team is a titular player of Istanbul Bashakshehir, which is trained by the former manager of the Turkish national team Abdullah Avci. As a result of this victory, Istanbul Bashakshehir climbed to the seventh position in the rankings, being four points away from the leader Beshiktash. The next game Epureanu will play for Moldova’s national squad in Chisinau on October 9, against Austria.

Alexandru Epureanu is the second Moldovan scoring in the championship of Turkey. His brother Sergiu Iepureanu scored for Samsunspor in the 1999-2000 season.
