Each person who will get a vaccine will receive an absolutely free vaccine certificate. This confirms the fact that the person was vaccinated against COVID-19. The document is generated by the information system COVID-19 Vaccination Register that ensures high-level data protection. Each vaccine certificate can be used when crossing the border in particular conditions and the person will be this way spared of costs for doing a PCR test, epidemiologist of the National Public Health Agency Alexei Ceban stated in an online program, being quoted by IPN.

According to Alexei Ceban, the vaccine certificate is used for convenience, but it is rather a necessity for preventing the spread of COVID-19. Vaccination is the safest method of preventing infection, including with COVID-19.

The vaccine certificate is an electronic document generated in PDF format, but it can be also printed. Alexei Ceban said an electronic vaccine certificate will also be available and the person can independently download it from vaccinare.gov.md, have it on the telephone and present it whenever it is necessary. Together with the issuing of the electronic certificate, the application of the wet stamp will be excluded.

The epidemiologist assured that the personal data will be protected and stored safety. The vaccine certificate will contain a QR code and the electronic signature.

For now, the vaccination certificates issued by Moldova are recognized by Ukraine and some of the EU member states. If a person has two vaccine certificates, one with the dose administered in Romania and another one with the dose administered in the Republic of Moldova, this could not be included in the information system. It is hard to validate a vaccine certificate whose authenticity cannot be checked.

The citizens from the left side of the Nistru benefit from the same certificate generated by the common system. The vaccine certificate is valid until there is post-vaccination immunity.

Alexei Ceban considers the people now have the chance to get a vaccine and prevent the future negative consequences of COVID-19. He noted it was proven that AstraZeneca and Pfizer are also efficient in the case of the new variant. He called on the citizens to get vaccinated and not to put off this moment.
