The Ministry of the Environment is looking for funds for working out and implementing the automated information system “State Geological Register”. The project forms part of the 2020 Development Strategy, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Ministry’s press service, the State Geological Register will enable to study the subsoil and to provide state information services as regards the monitoring of the elements of the geological environment, underground waters, and natural and mineral resources. Within the project, there will be designed digital maps of Moldova’s subsoil. According to a pre-feasibility study, the works will cost about 5 million lei, without the data processing and collection works. Under a Government Decision, the technical documents must be formulated and the automated information system “State Geological Register” implemented during 2011-2013. The Ministry of the Environment and the ICT Ministry are responsible for this.
