A number of Chisinau economic entities want to get involved in the First House project, Roman Sofroni, the head of the Capital Constructions Division, informed at the July 5 meeting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Five offers have been tendered so far. They include an offer to allot 70% of the apartments to the City Hall and sell the other 30% at market prices. Another company suggests providing the City Hall with 10% of the apartments free of charge and selling the other 90% at commercial prices.
Under the draft project, there will be built 300 apartments. The price of a square meter will be up to €400 for unfinished apartments and up to €500 for finished apartments. The one-room apartments will be 35 square meters in area, the two-room apartments – 60 square meters, while the three-room apartments - 70-80 square meters.
A special commission will soon choose one of the five offers and the construction of the first apartment building on Ghioceilor St will start. Meanwhile, talks are held with banks that are ready to provide cheaper loans. Three of the eight banks that expressed their readiness to offer loans meet all the necessary conditions.
The regulations that define the criteria according to which the beneficiaries will get social apartments are being finalized. The list of recipients will be drawn up according to such criteria as civil status, health condition and special situations experienced by them, said the head of the Finance Division Veronica Herta.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca instructed preparing the daft decision by the next meeting of the Chisinau City Hall so that the beneficiaries can file the documents to obtain loans in autumn.
The plot of 40 ares on which the first apartment building will be erected was allocated by the local authorities free of charge. The building is to be finished in 16-18 months.
