Entrepreneurs get acquainted with road map for improving business environment in Moldova

The Ministry of Economy and Trader in partnership with the BIZTAR project of the United States Agency for International Development and the World Bank held a roundtable meeting on April 23 to present the road map with solutions that the Government will implement to improve the conditions of doing business, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry. The road man includes measurers aimed at improving the business environment in Moldova on the following segments: business registration procedures, modernization of the legislative framework that regulates the construction sector, simplification of the fiscal reporting, access to loans, crossborder trade, etc. The plan aims to improve Moldova’s position in the Doing Business Index published yearly by the World Bank, where the economies are ranked on their ease of doing business. Therefore, Moldova should reduce corruption, extend the opportunities for women and minorities and create new workplaces at small and medium-sized enterprises. According to the organizers, the event is outstanding because it brings together members of the government and representatives of the private sector to discuss the real conditions of doing business in Moldova. Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Iurie Muntean said that a working group was set up to devise a working plan with viable solutions for improving the conditions of doing business. It examined the shortcomings of the normative framework that regulates the business activity. The plan includes a set of measures designed to create a business climate that will favor economic development and will be attractive to foreign investors, Muntean said. Through the agency of USAID/BIZTAR project, the United States Agency for International Development supports a number of Moldovan governmental agencies to improving and simplifying the services offered to the public. The World Bank helps Moldova improve the business environment through the regulatory reform, carry out the reform of the metrology, standardization and testing systems with the aim of aligning the Moldovan exports with the European standards and implement quality management systems at national companies. The United States Agency for International Development is financed by the U.S. Government. It provides economic and humanitarian assistance in more than 100 countries to provide a better future for all.
