Energy savings, especially during peak hours. CES instructions

The central and local public authorities must explore possibilities of reducing electricity consumption, especially during peak hours – 07:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 06:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. - but without affecting the safety and health of citizens or the functioning of essential services, says an ordinance issued by the Commission for Emergency Situations (CES), IPN reports.

Also, to reduce energy consumption, managers of public buildings and commercial units must reduce the interior lighting of buildings by at least 30%. The shop windows, decorative lighting, the operation of escalators should also be limited.

Enterprises with an energy-intensive production process must organize the work schedule so that the processes in which most of the electricity is used are carried out outside peak hours – 07:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 06:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

The administrators of apartment buildings and other buildings with elevators must place the announcement with the recommendation not to use the elevator between 07:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 06:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. in order to avoid blocking it in motion. The managers of water supply and sewerage enterprises must regulate the operating regime of the pumps of the storage basins in order to minimize the consumption of electricity between peak hours and to make full use of the potential of the storage basins.

Since December 16, Moldova has been under a state of emergency in connection with the situation in the energy sector. On January 1, the transit of natural gas from the Russian Federation through Ukraine was stopped. Respectively, due to the lack of gas, the supply of hot water and heat in the Transnistrian region was halted. The Moldovan Thermoelectric Plant (MGRES) in the Transnistrian region no longer supplies electricity to the right bank of the Nistru. Energocom said that it had concluded contracts with partners in Romania and Bulgaria, as well as with all energy producers in the country. Also, the consumption needs will be satisfied with purchases from Romania’s OPCOM.
