Energy Regulator: Gas price to stay unchanged for end users

The more costly gas that will be bought from Russia's Gazprom in the 4th quarter of 2008 is not going to affect the end users. The National Energy Regulating Agency (ANRE) has sated it won't change the current tariffs, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communique by ANRE, it got, Friday from Moldovagaz distributor, the confirmation of the new import price, established by Gazprom for Q4: $278.71 for 1,000 m3 . ANRE general director Vitalie Iurcu remarks the price does not differ much from the estimative price for Q4, taking into account by the agency on July 30. According to him, in this situation, according to the methodology, there is no ground to resort to the adjustment of current tariffs. The last time when ANRE raised the gas prices for end users was on July 30, 2008, after the import price rose to $252.98 per 1000 m3, that is 32.4% more than $191 per 1000 m3 taking into account by ANRE in establishing the average price earlier this year. Now the average tariff for the natural gas supply is 3,523 lei per 1000 m3 .
