The Moldovan-Hungarian friendship society suggests creating a system for producing energy from animal waste. A pilot project will be implemented to reconstruct and reequip a cattle farm in Soldanesti district. Over 2,000 cows will be brought from the Netherlands, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on Wednesday, Vladislav Melnic, the head of the Moldovan-Hungarian friendship society, said 20,000 kilowatts of power, 5,000 tonnes of bioethane and a large quantity of humus will be produced daily from animal waste. He stated the closed-circuit system will not pollute the water and soil. Viszlai Bela, Hungarian expert in ecological technologies, said it will be an intelligent energy production project similar to those that will be implemented in the EU. The pilot project aimed at reinvigorating the animal-breeding sector will be carried out with the support of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, with private investments from Hungary and Germany. A sum of €20-30 million will be needed to implement the project. A final assessment will be carried out after specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Hungarian experts examine the cattle farm in Soldanesti.
