Energy companies comment on new rises in tariffs

“We hope the new heat charge of 669 lei per gigacalorie will enable SA Termocom to better pay for the heat supplied by the thermoelectric power plants,” said Tudor Moiseev, the director of the thermometric power plant CET-1, Info-Prim Neo reports. He and Alexandru Comarov, the director of CET-2, said the tariffs set for the Chisinau state-run thermoelectric power plants will not allow the companies to develop, but they understand that the country is in a difficult financial situation. They assured they will make everything possible to ensure the smooth running of the plants and the preparations for the new autumn-winter season. Representatives of CET- Nord and CET Nord-Vest and of SA Moldelectrica expressed similar views. Ion Comendant, regulation director of RED Union Fenosa, said that the National Agency for Energy Regulation observed the methodology for calculating the tariffs and that Union Fenosa agrees with the tariff set for it. But he stressed that the new charges should be applied from January 1 because the delay caused losses of 50 million lei to the company during the first days of the year. Ghenadie Primac, the director of RED- Nord, also said that the tariffs should come into force on January 1 as the financial deviations caused by the delay in adjusting the charges lead to new deviations, in repaying the loans for purchasing energy for example. Vitalie Morei, the commercial director of SA Termocom, said he is glad that the heat charge was at last reviewed as they accumulated a debt of 2.5 billion lei for the gas supplied to the company. According to him, a working group was set up to analyze the situation at the heat supplier and make recommendations how to optimize the costs.
