SA Energocom signed a contract with OMV Petrom Romania for the purchase of 30 MW of electricity on the band (24 hours a day), valid during January 10-31. The price cannot be disclosed yet, but it is lower than the prices existing on the market, IPN reports.
This contract comes in the context of a possible increase in prices due to the resumption of economic activities, which will lead to higher energy consumption both in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova.
In this way, Energocom will reduce the amount of electricity purchased on the stock exchange, which is more volatile. Also, between October and December 2022, when the Republic of Moldova faced a similar energy crisis, Energocom also bought energy from OMV Petrom, which owns the Brazi Power Station.
According to Energocom, the contract with OMV Petrom will contribute to stabilizing the power supply in the Republic of Moldova.
