Contracts for the supply of natural gas were signed with three companies this week. Two of these companies will supply gas to SA Energocom for the first time. The companies were chosen at tender contests to which nine bids were submitted by six European companies, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Energy.
The company does not provide other details about the contracts, including the purchase prices. “The price is very close to what we have now on the exchanges. We are storing in order to benefit in winter too from this favorable conjuncture on the market. We are making effort to engage more companies in this process so as to have greater competition and more competitive prices,” said the acting director of Energocom Victor Bînzari.
The company noted that the given tender contests to purchase natural gas are held in accordance with the regulations approved by the Board of SA Energocom. The regulations refer to the gas price ceiling, the supply period and corridor, and the gas storage point.
Energocom also said that it will continue to hold tender contests and identify solutions to ensure the consumers in the Republic of Moldova are supplied with sufficient amounts of natural gas in the 2023-2024 winter season.
