SA Energocom repaid the €300 million loan taken out from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) after fully paying the second (emergency) tranche of €200 million, IPN reports.
Energocom said the given tranche was raised at the beginning of this year and was to be repaid by October, but could be repaired earlier, on August 7.
The €300 million loan taken out to implement the Security of Natural Gas Supply Project was used by SA Energocom during October 17, 2022 – January 10, 2023 to diversify the natural gas supply sources and to create strategic stores. To implement the project, 130 tender contests were held and over 300 million cubic meters of gas were bought as a result of these.
According to Energocom, the revolving loan could be used when necessary over a period of three years.
