Energocom: Electricity needs for January 2 are covered

Energocom has covered the electricity needs for January 2, IPN reports, quoting a press release issued by the company.

"Energocom’s team works nonstop even on days off or bank holidays," the company assureds in the new context in which the right bank of the Nistru no longer receives electricity from the Kuchurgan power plant and is now applying a new procurement plan.

"As the commercial capacity allocated at the border with Romania is limited to 315 MW band (24 hours a day) out of 650-800 MW required, part of the contracted electricity is reserved at intraday tender contests from capacities that are not used at Romania's other borders with neighboring states."

The necessary capacity for January 2 was reserved. Based on the contracts announced on December 31, Moldova will additionally purchase electricity from Ukraine, from Energoatom, for the night hours, when the Ukrainian partners have a surplus of energy and can export it.
