The Election Observation Mission of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) continues to work in Moldova. The observers will also monitor the filing and examination of complaints following the presidential runoff. The announcement was made by the Mission’s leaders in a news conference at IPN. These also presented the Mission’s preliminary findings and conclusions on the runoff vote.
The Mission’s Deputy Head Dritan Taulla said the observers will state the identified shortcomings and will formulate suggestions for removing these. All the findings of the observation will be announced to the public throgh a final report that will be published within 60 days from Election Day.
According to the preliminary conclusions of ENEMO, the presidential runoff in Moldova on November 13 was generally well organized and conducted in an orderly manner, following the main procedures. However, in some polling stations, the precinct electoral bureaus ran out of ballot papers. Due to this there were a number of voters that could not exercise their voting right.
The European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations is an international network of 23 leading non-profit, non-partisan and non-governmental organizations from 18 countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, including three European Union countries.
