The National Employers Confederation of Moldova in 2017 expects better working conditions for business entities, including the diminution of obstacles placed on their way. Contacted by IPN, the Confederation’s chairman Leonid Cerescu said the number of state inspections should be decreased in order to ensure prodigious activity.
“Investment in the Moldovan economy should be increased. There are preconditions for this, such as the cooperation agreement with the International Monetary Fund. Larger investment would mean better economic growth potential,” stated Leonid Cerescu.
According to him, the stability of the budgetary-fiscal policies should be ensured so that the rules of the game and taxes are not modified each year. It would be opportune to complete the actions started in 2016, such as the amendment of the Labor Code and Tax Code.
The most important thing, in the opinion of Leonid Cerescu, is for the improvement of the legislation to be felt by business entities that manufacture, make considerable financial contributions and create jobs. “What happens in our country? We adopt laws and particular measures that would be felt by business entities, but these ultimately do not benefit from them. (...) The problem resides in the fact that we have too much bureaucratic red tape,” he stated.
The chairman of the National Employers Confederation also said that more work should be done in the sphere of real economy in 2017. “Having profits and surplus value, the business entities are able to pay salaries, contributions to the state and taxes,” said Leonid Cerescu.
He added that one of the biggest problems for the business sector is the fact that many systemic changes are instituted and the companies have to adjust to the new rules of the game.
