Employers ask treating taxpayers equally
The employers demand treating equally the taxpayers, saying it is not fair for an economic entity to contribute a lower percentage to the budget, while another one – a higher percentage. Employers’ problems were disused in the general assembly of the National Employers Confederation on May 22, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Confederation’s head Leonid Cerescu said the difference in the percentage paid to the state means that a company produces goods at a higher cost price and becomes noncompetitive, while another company working in the same area makes goods at a lower cost price and enjoys sale-related advantages. Thus, there is created disloyal competition.
Another problem discussed is the payment of salaries ‘in envelope’ and the illegal labor. According to Leonid Cerescu, this phenomenon increases the fiscal pressure on the companies that work legally.
At the same time, the businessmen approve of the removal of the administrative barriers to export, the keeping of the reduced VAT on sugar, the rise in agricultural subsidies and the negotiations on the creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU.
Attending the event, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said all the proposals submitted by the businessmen will be examined and synthesized and a number of legislative amendments will be made based on them. “We will not have results if the trade unions, employers and the government do not make a concerted effort,” he stated. The Premier said that the composition of the Economic Council created by a Government Decision will be soon named and the communication with the business circles will have a regular basis.
