The dean and head of a department of the University of Physical Education and Sport were arrested with €800 bribe. The institution’s employees asked from a student €1,000 for helping him pass the exams he failed to take and the Bachelor’s thesis and to stop the expelling process, IPN reports, with reference to the National Anticorruption Center.
The collected evidence shows the student was admitted in 2018 and studied for two years. Since 2020, he hasn’t attended classes and was to be expelled. In a discussion with the dean and department head, the student was assured that the problem can be solved in exchange for €1,000. As the denouncer said, the two told him they have influence on other lecturers and can make these give him grades in the exams of the third and fourth years of study and in state exams.
An investigation is underway. The two employees face influence peddling charges.
