Residents of the IT Park will be able to work remotely, regardless of the location of their employees. The Cabinet today approved amendments to the Law on Information Technology Parks to this effect.
“The changes are being made in order to maintain the current business in the Republic of Moldova, the workforce within the IT companies, but also to legally relocate to Moldova foreign companies that for reasons related to what is happening in the region cannot continue their business in their countries of residence”, the draft states.
At the same time, the types of activities carried out within the park were expanded. Four new types of activity are proposed that are related to information technology and would be eligible under the IT park regime. These include digital color correction and reconditioning services, sound editing and design services, original sound recordings, technical design services for industrial and manufacturing facilities.
The authorities say that the new activities will stimulate foreign investment in the country in the field of cinematography, audiovisual, music industry and other related fields.
