The National Confederation of Trade Unions (CNSM) launched a campaign to inform the salary earners in southern Moldova about the conception of decent work. The campaign will last until October 5, IPN reports.
Stela Stratila-Sarbu, head of the Confederation’s Youth Council, said the young trade unionists will communicate with the people, will tell them about illegal labor and salaries paid ‘in envelope’ and will explain the role of the trade unions and the methods by which they defend employees’ interests.
The Confederation’s chairman Oleg Budza said that 30% of the trade union members are young people. “The CNSM pays special attention to the young people. We want them to remain in the country, to work legally and in decent conditions. Therefore, they should be well-informed,” he stated.
The information campaign will cover the districts of Hancesti, Cimislia, Comrat, Basarabeasca, Ciadir–Lunga, Vulcanesti and Cahul. The CNSM staged such campaigns to inform the people in regions last autumn and this summer.
