The private individuals in the Republic of Moldova who are taxpayers are encouraged to direct 2% of the income tax paid to the state the previous year for the social projects implemented by the Chisinau Foundation “Regina Pacis”.
The Foundation’s director Ilie Zabica has told IPN that “Regina Pacis” is a charitable organization that has worked in Moldova for 21 years. Its mission is to create a protected environment for the development of children and young people in situations of risk and to improve the quality of life of older persons.
“Starting with 2017, any taxpayer, private individual, has been able to direct 2% of the income tax for the previous year paid to the state for different social causes. This sum is not sponsorship or donation. It is just a part of the income tax paid for the fiscal year that can be directed free to a nongovernmental organization or charitable foundation,” said the director of “Regina Pacis”.
The 2% of the income tax that will be directed to the foundation will be used to support the Social Eatery “Regina Pacis”. “This way, without considerable effort, you can help us offer free warm lunches to vulnerable older persons, persons with disabilities and children separated from their families. In 2021 alone, despite all the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic, we managed to provide the older people in need and children who remained without parental care with about 50,000 warm meals. Together with our partners and volunteers, we prepared and distributed over 500 food parcels,” stated Ilie Zabica, noting they aim to further help their beneficiaries.
Private individuals can direct 2% of the income tax for the Social Canteen of “Regina Pacis” by inserting the fiscal code 1015620000999 in Section 6 that is optional in the tax return.
