The costs incurred by employees for alternative care services for children younger than three inclusive will be subsidized with 2,500 lei a month for a child. The payment will not be taxed, as a bill approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday provides, IPN reports.
The legislative proposal formulated by PAS MP Dan Perciun comes to adjust the Tax Code and other related laws so that the subsidization of the alternative care services for children younger than three inclusive becomes possible.
According to the author, the law will help reduce the pronounced gender gap existing on Moldova’s labor market, which in most of the cases negatively affects the women. The introduction of concessions will enable employers and employees to use the women’s work and to contribute to general economic growth by fully involving women. The proposal talks into account the successful practices of other states as regards the facilitation of the process of creating parent-friendly workplaces.
