A triple suicide bombing and shooting attacks at Istanbul’s main international airport Ataturk in the evening of June 28 left 36 dead and over 140 injured. The international press also reported about 50 casualties. To facilitate the communication with the Moldovans who are in Istanbul and with those who need the assistance of the Moldovan authorities, an emergency telephone line was set up at Moldova’s Consulate in Istanbul - +905350254276, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the Consulate General of Moldova in Istanbul said they work with the Turkish authorities to establish if there are Moldovans among the victims so as to offer them the necessary assistance.
The bombers detonated explosive vests in the arrivals hall of Ataturk airport, which is the third busiest in Europe. Air traffic there was resumed during the night.
