The Emergency Admissions Section of the Municipal Clinical Children’s Hospital of Contagious Diseases situated on Lomonosov St in Chisinau was reopened after renovation. The municipality of Chisinau spent over 500,000 lei on the repair works. The section was outfitted with modern equipment donated through the “Repemol” project, IPN reports.
Diana Vlad, head of the Emergency Admissions Section, said the section was adjusted to the national system of epidemiological alerts and each case of infectious disease is reported nationwide. The section consists of three halls – one for erogenous infections, one for intestinal infections and one for patient resuscitation and stabilization. “The halls have been equipped with ventilator, monitor, electrocardiograph, aspirators and trolley for measurements. There are also an oxygen system, defibrillator, places for examination, for measuring blood pressure and heart pulse, and aspirators for being used when the respiratory system is blocked,” she stated.
The Hospital’s director Ludmila Birca noted that the Emergency Admissions Section was founded in 2014 and 70% of the persons who came here earlier were hospitalized. Now only 1/3 of the patients are hospitalized. “The patients are examined and prescribed the necessary treatment during 24 hours while they are under our supervision. If the situation improves, they can go home. If not, they are transferred to the section or are referred to another medical unit,” she said.
The Emergency Admissions Section annually provides medical assistance to over 12,000 children.
